The theme of our window for the last couple of weeks has been hats and headbands. It is still a bit chilly out so definitely hat weather in our opinion. These project ideas are ideal for a quick make as they take no more than a few hours to complete.
This moss stitch hat was from the Rico Wild Wild Wool book and is knitted in less than one ball of Katia Inca super chunky. I used one of our Knit Pro pompom makers to whip up the pompom in no time! This project took me just a morning to knit on 10mm needles.
The book is full of inspiration with over 40 projects, for both knitting and crochet. As well as hats, there are patterns for cowls, scarves and even balaclavas!
If hats aren’t your thing, why not try a headband! This project is from the Knitted Headbands book from Searchpress and was another super quick make. These books are great value at just £4.99 each, and full of projects for all skill levels. I chose this headband as I love a bit of cabling. The two yarns used are West Yorkshire Spinners Blue Faced Leicester Aran Prints in Bullfinch and Wendy Traditional Aran in Red.
If you need any more inspiration for accessories then look no further. The lovely new book from Pompom, Take Heart, has just arrived in store as well as Titus Mini Knits from baa ram ewe which uses their beautiful Titus 4ply yarn. Also in stock are Toasty Volumes 1 and 2 by Rachel Coopey.
So there’s no excuse not to have the best dressed head in town this winter!
